Farmer-to-Youth Exchange Program

Facilitating exchange programs for farmers to share knowledge and best practices in sustainable agriculture.

YAHI's Farmer-to-Youth Exchange Program aims to bridge the gap between young people and farmers and empower them to work towards a more sustainable and equitable food system. The program provides opportunities for young people to learn about agriculture, food production, and the challenges faced by farmers in their communities. It also creates a platform for farmers to share their knowledge and expertise with the next generation, fostering intergenerational dialogue and collaboration.

The program involves a series of workshops, farm visits, and community events, where young people can engage directly with farmers and gain a deeper understanding of the food system. Participants learn about different farming practices, including agroecology, regenerative agriculture, and traditional farming methods. They also have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities, such as planting, harvesting, and processing food.

The Farmer-to-Youth Exchange Program has several benefits. Firstly, it helps young people to develop a greater appreciation for the work of farmers and the importance of sustainable agriculture. It also promotes intergenerational learning and dialogue, fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by different members of the food system. Finally, it helps to build a more resilient and sustainable food system by promoting the adoption of sustainable farming practices and strengthening the connection between farmers and consumers.
